(Trinidad Express) A man who pleaded guilty to the 2009 stabbing death of a Petrotrin supervisor whom he said made sexual advance toward him, was today sentenced to 14 years in prison.
Anderson Gould, who already served eight years and eight months awaiting trial, will spend another five years and two months in prison.
After legal submissions between the State and Gould’s attorney Cedric Neptune, the State accepted the guilty plea to the charge of manslaughter.
The State acceptance of this lesser plea was not because of Gould’s claim of homosexual advancements but rather because the State had no eye witness to disprove Gould’s statement that he stabbed Oral Brathwaite after violent sexual advances were made toward him.
The matter was heard before Justice Maria Wilson in the San Fernando Third Criminal Court.
