Carpenter remanded on ganja trafficking charge

A carpenter was yesterday remanded to prison after he was accused of being in possession of almost a pound of cannabis for trafficking.

The charge read to Quincy Anthony Douglas, 29, stated that on February 22nd, 2017, at Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara, he had in his possession 450 grammes of cannabis, equivalent to just under one pound, for trafficking.

Douglas denied the charge, which was read to him by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in a Georgetown court.

He was remanded until March 9th.
