GDF Lance Corporal hurt in Timehri accident

Jamal McPherson, a Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Lance Corporal is hospitalised in the Intensive Care Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital, after being involved in an accident on the Timehri Public Road, East Bank Demerara yesterday.

According to the police, at around 1 pm,  Mc Pherson, a 21-year-old of Den Amstel, West Coast Demerara and GDF Lance Corporal Cranston Mc Allister, 20, of Lot 22 Heath Street, Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara were on motor cycle CH 681 when they overtook a vehicle and lost control.

Mc Allister fell onto the road while the pillion rider, Mc Pherson skidded over to the western side of the road. As a result, Mc Pherson, connected with the right front wheel of motor car PJJ 5499 which had stopped on the western side of the road.

He suffered head injuries and was picked up in a semi-conscious condition, placed in police motor car, PTT 5216 and taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre.

He received medical attention and was transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was examined by doctors on duty, treated and admitted.

Both Mc Pherson and Mc Allister are based at Camp Stephenson, Timehri and attached to the training core.

Police are investigating.
