A 40-year-old driver is presently in police custody following the discovery of five pounds of compressed cannabis in a hire car on the Friendship Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
According to a police press release the discovery was made after ranks on mobile patrol intercepted the car around 6.20 pm and conducted a search.
During the search, the police said “four taped parcels of compressed cannabis were found in a box in the back seat of the vehicle”.
The driver, a resident of Kuru Kururu, EBD is being processed for court.
