More people could start their own garden

Dear Editor,

In 2016 I reaped a lot of produce from my yard (cherries, passion fruit, pigeon peas, papayas, plantains, bananas, etc). I think I have done well so far in spite of some challenges, and I thank God for this. (I have limited space for planting).

On Wednesday, December 28, 2016, I joined a Grove/Diamond bus in which two female passengers were talking One of them said to me, “Old boy I always pass and admire your garden, it reminded me of the garden my parents had when I was a little girl on the Corentyne, when I use to enjoy plenty”.  She now lives in Diamond scheme and started her own garden. She went on to say that she like tea bush and in her days on the Corentyne she drank bush tea every weekend.

What I am trying to say is that many more people can start their own garden and enjoy doing it. What do you do when you reap? You share.

Yours faithfully,

Laurie Greenidge
