There has been no Credit Union AGM because audit not released

Dear Editor,

The letter published in your issue of February 4, captioned ‘Why have the Guyana Public Service Co-operative Credit Union directors not held an AGM?’ refers.

While the Management Committee of the Guyana Public Service Co-operative Credit Union Ltd thoroughly regrets the member’s “disappointment and frustration” including (Mr Kirwyn Mars) over the failure of not having an Annual General Meeting for the last three years ‒ and not four years ‒ Mr Mars ought to be informed that the hiatus has been a direct result of the failure of the Chief Co-operative Development Officer, up to this time, to release the report of the Audit to cover years 2011-2013.

The Credit Union, as a whole, is also concerned over this undesirable state of affairs, especially since a decision was taken and permission was given to have the meeting in November 2016 and the organization was in a full state of readiness to do so, only to be obstructed by the unavailability of the report referred to above which is an essential requisite for the meeting.

Yours faithfully,
