It is with sadness I read of the passing of Mrs Thelma Ribeiro, who languished in the Lethem Regional Hospital following gallstones surgery, which left her in a comatose state.
Her death, while not unexpected, has left a void and her family must be commended for their unified show of strength, courage and fortitude in coping with a very distressing situation. They desperately pursued and then exhausted all means of finding assistance and answers to what went horribly wrong, as they helplessly watched the life ebbing away from their loved one.
To the family, relatives and friends I extend my condolences. May she rest in peace.
