I am very sad to learn of the passing of Ms Carmen Jarvis under whose chairmanship I served as a member of the Commit-tee of the National Library. She was, in my opinion, a person of humble quality highly dedicated to the calling to which she was assigned. It was a pleasure to be in her company and observe her contributions as she sought to give her best.
Ms Carmen Jarvis is one of the few persons whom I have met that did not exalt herself but presented herself as a servant in service. It is my belief that this wonderful person served with dignity and respect.
I convey my deepest sympathies to all related to her. I know that Guyana has lost a valuable daughter indeed.
