The status quo needs to end

Dear Editor,

The problem with the PPP/C is that there are many good people in the party but its hierarchy is tainted and undemocratic.

The problem with the APNU+AFC is that the hierarchy is more democratic and less tainted but it is the PNC (the main component of the APNU+AFC coalition) that is tainted and deemed undemocratic.

Changes needs to be made in both the PPP/C and the APNU+AFC so that they are more democratic and less tainted. Yet, I feel that both the APNU+AFC and PPP/C are grooming the younger politicians into their way of doing things which has failed Guyanese for over 50 years now. Does Guyana need a new political party which is more democratic and untainted or do we work with the APNU+AFC coalition and the PPP/C to get them to resolve their differences and co-operate on issues that affect the ordinary Guyanese people?

What I do know is that the status quo needs to end. We cannot keep doing the same thing, the same way over and over again and expect a different result.

Yours faithfully,

Sean Ori
