Sent to dental centre with broken jaw

Dear Editor,

I am a pensioner widower living alone. On January 29, 2017 I was lashed by a bandit and my jaw was broken. I went to the GPHC, and was given an injection, etc. I was told they had no bed and I should sit on a bench. At 2 am I was given a bed in Emergency and taken to a doctor. I showed him the X-ray and after telling me to open my mouth he said everything was OK and referred me to the dental clinic. My jaw was broken in two places and a doctor tried to make a plate for the part that was broken, but after months nothing could be done. After months of running there on different dates it came to a close on June 15, 2017. The same doctor who sent me to dental clinic (4th doctor) said nothing can be done, the jaw has knitted; if it was fresh he would have used the clamp, etc.

From January 29 to the present day I cannot eat anything solid; it is liquid and mash now for the rest of my life. I have to go through this because of the carelessness of the doctor; my jaw is broken in two places and I was sent to the dental centre.

Yours faithfully,

B Ramkishore
