There should be a ban on lewd music in public

Dear Editor,

On 21 June, while watching television, I heard Dr Barton Scotland make a call for a ban to be placed on the playing of lewd music in public. I write to support Dr Scotland on this issue. I ride the buses daily on my way to work. I am very disturbed by the lewd music that is played on some of the buses. The music contains obscene lyrics. More disturbing is the sight of teenagers boarding these buses in order to go home. Some of the teens are forced by the conductors into these buses.

I hope that Dr Scotland and others will be able to use their influence to place a ban on the playing of lewd music in public. It is offensive to people who are not accustomed to that genre of music.

Yours faithfully,
Rev Arlene Munro
