Was GTT’s promotion offer genuine?

Dear Editor,

As a subscriber to GTT, I was in the middle of research via my mobile device on the late afternoon of Saturday, July 8, when all of a sudden I realised that I no longer had internet access. This was a total shock. I vividly remember opting for a social plan which was sent via a message from GTT at 1:23pm and it was an unlimited offer for a day plan of 24 hours which would have expired some time the day after.

I responded to the plan by dialling ‘1’ and got a confirmation message at 4.05pm. The offer didn’t read saying I had 15 minutes or an hour to respond.

After making some enquiries of the operators, I was informed that I did not have sufficient funds at the time I took the offer. I fully accept the explanation given, but I could not understand GTT sending a confirmation message after I opted for their offer. If indeed anyone does not have sufficient funds to activate an offer, aren’t they supposed to receive a message saying that? Instead, I got a confirmation message.

Are GTT’s promotion offers genuine?

Yours faithfully,

T Pemberton
