Litter message

Dear Editor,

On Tuesday, August 15, I had just stepped out of an ice cream parlour at Vreed-en-Hoop, and was about to enter my car, when I heard a man speaking to a child, about six years old. He spoke with an American twang:

“This is not Miami; you can throw it anywhere,” he said, encouraging the child to litter.

Quite a message for me.

Yours faithfully,

Krishna Bracket Prasad
