Dear Editor,

The gruesome murder of two elderly women at their Bourda residence has once again brought to the fore the extent to which some people can go to satisfy their material wants. Man, it is said, is a socialized animal, but it is clear that in the case of the persons who committed this murderous act, the socialization process was inadequate to tame the ‘beast’ which resides in varying intensities in members of the human species.

It seems obvious from media reports that the motive behind the murders was robbery.

These were women in their sunset years, both of whom had gone past the biblical three score and ten, but were still active in church related activities.

My deepest condolences to the relatives and friends of the two deceased and to all members of the Full Gospel Church.

Yours faithfully,

Hydar Ally
