GTT should start showing some level of professionalism

Dear Editor,

Please allow me the opportunity to publicly express my pent up frustration with Guyana’s very own GTT. With regard to their efforts to ensure quality service in Prospect, East Bank Demerara where I reside, I have some misgivings. It is my firm conviction that due to the lackadaisical attitude of some of their employees, my landline service has been left paralysed for almost one month thus far, which also severely affects my DSL internet connection, reducing it from 5Mbps to a mere 200kb and oftentimes, less. Multiple reports have already been made, all of which were met with false assurances that the problem was being rectified. I fail to comprehend why the repair and restoration of my landline service should call for so many reminders, requests and red tape. What appalls me further are the absolutely insubstantial excuses that are creatively offered by the service provider as a justification for the delay. It is imperative that GTT start showing its customers some level of professionalism when dealing with such issues and have them resolved in a timely manner.

Yours faithfully,
