The country could do better in removing hindrances to doing business

Dear Editor,

Thank you for posting my last letter concerning an application for approval to build a storage bond in the community of Bachelor’s Adventure, lower East Coast. My letter dated October 13, was ironically the same day that the Central Housing and Planning Authority had their Board meeting. I’m pleased to say that I have since received word that during that meeting my application was approved.

I would like to thank the Board and staff of the CH&PA for their kind consideration. The process was a very frustrating one for us, since we are losing revenue because of the inconvenience of not having this bond. Editor, I would also like to see us as a country do better in removing these hindrances to doing business here in Guyana, since we are lagging so far back in the ease of doing business index.

Yours faithfully,

Ravin Ramoutar
