The Caribbean Voice seeking nominees for honour roll

Dear Editor,

The Caribbean Voice is appealing to readers to please submit names of Guyanese (at home and abroad) social and empowerment activists and advocates who passed away in 2016. We will be having an honour roll call at the Third Annual El Dorado Awards set for November 18 at Park Vue Hotel in Guyana.

Honorees for the 2017 awards include an NGO working with children in the Amerindian community, an Amerindian artist who engages in tremendous social work, a few businesses that give back to the tune of millions of dollars, two community-based organizations that do tremendous work within their communities, one youth activist and one youth organization that focuses on youth activism, a disability rights activist who is visually impaired, a women’s empowerment activist, an organization that works with autistic children, and an organization that provides relief supplies to families who face disasters such as fire and flood.

The award format comprises a dinner, the awards presentation, a cultural interlude, and an after party–networking, music, dancing. A limited number of tickets are still available at $5,000 each. For info or tickets or to provide names for the honour roll call please email caribvoice@aol.com or send IM to Annan Boodram, Nazim Hussain, Leslyn Holder or call 646-461-0574 (North America) or 644 1152, 646 4649 or 697-9968 (Guyana).
