Shaheed orphanages receive lawn mower

The Shaheed Boys and Girls Orphanages has received a lawn mower for use on its playground located at the Girls Orphanage location—Oleander Gardens, East Coast Demerara.

A release from the orphanage said that the donation was made by Anganie G. Ali, who resides in Orlando, Florida, USA, through initiatives by Guyanese singer Terry Gajraj.

The equipment was freighted to Georgetown from the USA free of charge through Laparkan Freight Services.

At a simple handing over ceremony last Friday, Terry Gajraj (left) handed over the lawn mower to  Sherina Hakim, one of the children of the orphanages, in the presence of Secretary of the Orphanage Board, Hakeem Khan, other children of the institutions as well as well-wishers.
