Kingston Knights win farewell softball match for outgoing High Commissioner of Canada

Staff of the High Commission of Canada enjoyed a friendly eight overs-a-side softball cricket match among themselves on Friday at the Everest Cricket Club. The match was outgoing High Commissioner Pierre Giroux’s first hand at the sport.

The Kingston Knights, led by Wilton Lawrence, triumphed over the Yukon Warriors, led by Melville Rogers, winning by three runs. The top scorer was Harry Dhanai from the Yukon Warriors with 49 runs while Kester Robin supported with 45. The game was organized as a parting gift by the staff for outgoing High Commissioner Pierre Giroux who will be departing Guyana this week.
