In a contest at the historic Gabba, Heat piled up 186 for six but then watched as Sixers raced to their target in the final over.

The visitors were powered by opener Daniel Hughes who slammed 85 from 55 deliveries, with seven fours and four sixes.

Badree, handed the new ball, removed Englishman Jason Roy lbw for seven at 16 for one in the third over but Hughes put on 45 for the second wicket with Nic Maddinson (24) and a further 59 for the fifth with Brad Haddin who got 32, to revive the run chase.

Hughes was out to the first ball of the final over with Sixers needing three runs but Sean Abbott (seven not out) clobbered the fourth delivery from Ben Cutting for six to take his side over the line.

Badree finished with one for 30 from his four overs.

Earlier, Joe Burns top-scored with 51 from 33 deliveries and opener Jimmy Peirson got 44 from 33 balls as Heat, sent in, gathered 186 for six off their 20 overs.
