Players from the Vice President’s 15 defeated the President’s outfit 22-17 when the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) kicked off its second week of activities for the year on Saturday at the National Park.
Osei McKenzie led the VP squad with two tries while Kevin Wills chipped in with a conversion. Daniel Anderson and Carlton Barrow also recorded a try apiece for the victors.
The heroics of Rondel McArthur along with Rickford Cummings and Jason Tyrell who each had a try were not enough for the President’s side.
Ryan Gonsalves conversion also scored to pad the score line.
Rugby action continues on February 5 with the Guinness 7s.
This exciting tournament will be followed by four other 7s one-day tournaments which is expected to conclude in March.
