Mangra, Ramdhani cop titles at Mashramani badminton tournament

Jonathan Mangra and Priyanna Ramdhani copped the male and female Open titles at the National Sports Commission (NSC) Mashramani badminton tournament which concluded recently at the National Gymnasium.

Mangra defeated Nicholas Ali 21-16 and 21-16 in the male Open final while Ramdhani copped the female title after playing unbeaten in the female Open round robin event.

Kayla Jordon won the girls U-11 title with Haily Choo-A-Fat the runner-up while Jonathan Debidin took the boys U-11 crown from Avinash Ramnarine.

The girls U13 title went to Lesha Singh with Sasha Singh second while Andrew Debidin walked away with the boys U13 title with Vikash Mootoo as the runner-up.

In the girls U15 singles, Crystal Permaul won from Sarah Samad.

At the presentation ceremony held recently, Director of Sports, Christopher Jones and the executives of the Guyana Badminton Association made the presentation of trophies and medals to the respective winners along with the opening and closing remarks.

The GBA, in a statement, expressed gratitude to the NSC for its support of the development of badminton.
