GCA season commences today with Carib Beer T20, First-division competitions

The Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) is set to commence its 2016/2017 season today and tomorrow with several matches at various venues in the city.

The Carib Beer T20 first-division will take center stage today with the first of the Zone A matches pitting the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) against the University of Guyana (UG) at DCC while Police SC will face Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) at Eve Leary.

Zone B matches will see the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) playing the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) at Bourda while Malteenoes SC will play Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) at the Malteenoes ground.  The competition will continue tomorrow with Zone A clashes between DCC and GNIC at DCC while Police SC will play Transport SC at Eve Leary.

Everest CC will play GYO at Everest while Malteenoes SC will battle GCC at the Malteenoes ground in Zone B.

Matches will start at 13:30 on each day. Meanwhile the second semi-final of the New Building Society (NBS) second division limited overs competition (40-overs-a-side) will see Everest Cricket Club taking on Transport SC at Everest from 11:00 hours.
