Hooper new president of GABA

Adrian Hooper, President of Eagles Basketball Club was elected president of the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) when the body staged its electoral congress yesterday at the Cara Lodge Inn, Quamina Street.

Hooper, a GABA Vice-President under the Andrew Hercules administration, secured the top post after defeating Pacesetters stalwart Clement Brusche 4-1.

Hooper, who will head the affairs of the association for the next two years, declared he will announce the complete makeup of his executive committee by Wednesday as stipulated by the constitution.

The clubs that participated at the congress were Colts, Eagles, Pacesetters, Pepsi Sonics and Plaisance Guardians. The Returning Officer was Leandre Jack.

In attendance was former GABA Boss and current Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) Vice-President Michael Singh.
