St Rose’s High, Bishops’ High score lopsided wins in NSBF

St. Rose’s High and Bishops’ High secured lopsided wins in the U16 division of the National School Basketball Festival (NSBF) ‘Georgetown Extended Regionals’, defeating Tutorial High and Queen’s College respectively Saturday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.

St. Rose’s dismissed Tutorial High 44-26. Anthony Yansen led the Church Street unit with 17 points, four rebounds and seven steals while Joshua Spencer chipped in with six points and seven points and Atilla Williamson recorded six points and four rebounds.

Johnny Griffith recorded eight points and 17 rebounds for Tutorial High. Meanwhile, Bishops’ outsmarted Queen’s College 47-34.

Tarikh Robinson fashioned a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds for the victors while Aroop Muthu scored 10 points and four rebounds and Quivon Bourne added six points and 11 rebounds.

For the losing team, Lugard Mohan Jr., scored 17 points along with seven steals, five rebounds and three assists while Joshua Hinds tallied eight points, nine rebounds and five steals.

In the girls’ section, St. Rose’s High demolished St. Joseph’s High 25-4. Jamaica Blair recorded eight points and as many rebounds while Ashley Khan chipped in with six points and four rebounds and Ayadele Roach netted five points.

For St. Joseph’s, Deslyn Leitch tallied four points and four rebounds. The event will resume at the same venue on April 21st.
