Wiltshire, Harding, Cadogan and Baksh crowned Toucan squash champs

Shomari Wiltshire, Makeda Harding, Abosaide Cadogan and Mohyryan Baksh clinched the Category-A, B, C and D divisions respectively when the Toucan Distributors Junior Skill Level Squash tournament concluded on Saturday.

Staged at the Georgetown Club Facility on Camp Street, Wiltshire defeated Taylor Fernandes via forfeiture due to leg injury for the latter. At the time of the stoppage, Wiltshire secured the first set 11-5.

On the other hand, Harding overcame Rebecca Low 11 – 8, 5 – 11, 7 – 11, 11 – 8 and 11 – 8. Meanwhile, Cadogan crushed Jason Gomes 11 – 9, 11 – 4, 11 – 7 and Baksh humbled Louis DaSilva 11 – 4, 11 – 0, 11 – 1.

In Category-E, Mikhail Persaud defeated Shiloh Asregado 11 – 9, 11 – 6 to secure the title whilst Osmond Mack clinched the Category-F accolade after defeating Isabella Ramjohn 11 – 1, 11 – 3.

The respective winners and finishers in every category pose with their spoils following the conclusion of the Toucan Distributors Junior Skill Level Squash at the Georgetown Club Facility on Camp Street.

Dhiren Persaud defeated Rayden Persaud 11 – 6, 11 – 5 to lay claim to the Category-G championship whilst Joshua Verwey won Category-H.

In other results, Samuel Ince-Carvalhal defeated Sarah Lewis 11 – 1, 11 – 7, 11 – 4 to finish second in Category-B and Gianni Carpenter clinched the fourth position in the same section compliments of a 11 – 6, 11 – 9, 11 – 6 win over Maya Collins.

Also in Category-C, Madison Fernandes downed Kirsten Gomes 13 – 11, 11 – 2, 8 – 11, 9 – 11, 12 – 10 to secure second place, while  Zachary Persaud bested Nathan Rahaman 11 – 7, 11 – 6, 11 – 7 in Category-D to secure the second position.

In Category-E, Chad DeAbreu defeated Liam Carpenter 11 – 4, 11 – 3 to walk away with third place whilst Beau Fernandes downed Teija Edwards 11 – 8, 11 – 5 to claim second place in Category-F.

Aishani Persaud dismissed Lucas Persaud 11 – 6, 11 – 5 to secure second in Category-G while Rayad Boyce finished in third place in the same zone despite losing to Angel Rahim who beat Boyce 12 – 10, 8 – 11, 6 – 11.

In Category-H, Javed Saul crushed Noah Rahaman 11 – 6, 11 – 7 to earn second place. In the individual presentation, Cadogan and Baksh copped the Most Outstanding Girl and Boy accolade respectively while Aliyah Persaud and DaSilva copped the Most Improved Girl and Boy prize apiece.
