East Coast Demerara Guinness competition kicks off today

The fifth Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ East Coast of Demerara leg will kick-off today at the Haslington Market Place Tarmac.

In the opening fixture at 18:00hrs, Nabaclis will tackle Lusignan Prisons while defending champions Beterverwagting (BV)-B will engage Golden Grove South from 18:30hrs and Young Jiggers tackle Uprising from 19:00hrs.

The fourth encounter will pit Plaisance-B against Portmore United at 19:30hrs while Melanie-B will engage Annandale Warriors at 20:00hrs and Future Stars comes up against Doctor Yard Assassins at 20:30hrs.

At 21:00hrs, 2015 winners BV-A will oppose Top-7 while Buxton D&J will battle Non Pariel City Boys at 21:30hrs and 2014 titlist Melanie-A will match skills with Turkeyen at 22:00hrs.

From 22:30hrs, Bare Root Mafia will lock horns with Ann’s Grove while 2013 champion Plaisance-A will faceoff with Mahaica at 23:00hrs and Paradise will oppose Victoria Church Yard United at 23:30hrs.

In the final three matches, Golden Grove will take on Buxton Diamond at 12:00hrs, C-Division plays Victoria Eagles at 12:30hrs and Haslington Hypers tackles Belfield Warriors at 13:00hrs.

To date, the Georgetown, West Demerara/East Bank Demerara and Berbice Zones have been completed. The Linden and Bartica zones are expected to be staged following the conclusion of the East Coast Demerara leg.
