GFF launches national training for respective teams

In an effort to improve the preparation for international assignments, the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has launched their National Training Camp schedule.

The training programme, which is being supervised Technical Director Ian Greenwood and runs for the duration of April and May, consists of the boys U13 and U15 teams,  a girls U17  as well as the Golden Jaguars senior squad and Lady Jaguars unit respectively.

The U15 boys team is preparing for a tournament to be held in Saint Martin in June and a CONCACAF tournament in August.

The girls U17 programme is geared towards the CFU tournament in August while the

Lady Jaguars are preparing for the CFU Caribbean Cup in May.

According to a release from the GFF, the boys U15 team is preparing for events on April 24th and May 5th-7th, while the Lady Jaguars will enter the programme from April 24th-29th and May 12th-22nd.

The girls U17s will utilise the period of May 1st-5th, with the Boys U13 and Golden Jaguars senior setup entering the programme during April 29th-May 1st and May 7th-11th correspondingly.

“One of the highlights of the schedule is the selection of Guyana’s first U13 boys squad, which has been made possible thanks to the success of the new, nationwide, GFF-Scotiabank Academy Training Centres, that have created a system for scouting and coaching talented youth players from all nine regional member associations this year,” stated the release

“The GFF has also selected former and current national team players to participate in the coaching of the national team squads, including Akilah Castello, Tricia Munroe, Charles Pollard, Anthony Benfield and Bryan Joseph,” the release added.
