Old Fort secured their first win in the Woodpecker Products women’s first division hockey league after edging Spartans 2-1 Sunday at the St. Stanislaus College ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Sulika Treurniet gave Old Fort the lead in the 18th minute but Spartans equalised through Princessa Wilkie who scored in the 50th minute.
Nevertheless Old Fort would not be denied as Minsodia Culpepper grabbed what eventually was the winning goal 10 minutes later.
Meanwhile, Pepsi Hikers squeaked past emerging force St Stanislaus 1-0 when the Farfan and Mendes men’s first division hockey league continued at the St. Stanislaus College ground, Carifesta Avenue Sunday.
With the first half ending scoreless, Tiversarid Garnett made his presence felt as he separated the two teams compliments of a 57th minute conversion.
