Nassy nets hat-trick as Pele whip Rastas 4-1

Pele FC, Thomas United, Newtown Kitty and Plaisance won their matches when the Alex Bunbury Sports and Academic Academy (ABSAA) coordinated ‘Clash of Veterans’ Football tournament continued on Sunday.

Staged at the Tucville Community Ground, Pele crushed Rastas 4-1. Omally Nassy recorded a hat-trick in the easy win, while Justin Bentick netted once.

For Rastas, O. Huntley scored. Meanwhile, Thomas United edged Beacons FC  1-0 compliments of an own goal while Plaisance edged Park Rangers 2-1.

F. Pollydore and W. Park netted for the East Coast Demerara unit. On target in the loss was V. Watunoa. Also, Newtown squeaked past Wales 1-0 through a K. Cozier conversion.

The tournament is being played in a league format featuring teams from Georgetown, East Coast Demerara and West Bank Demerara.

Trophies as well as cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in the event. Sponsors of the event are Banks DIH Limited, Guyana Football Federation (GFF), Star Party Rental, Leading Edge and Fruta Conquerors FC.
