Rain forces first round abandonment of Under19 Inter-County tournament

The opening round of the Guyana Cricket Board, Hand-In-Hand Inter-County Under–19 tournament was abandoned without a ball being bowled at the Everest Cricket Club and Police Sports Club grounds yesterday.

Both matches were called off just around 1:00pm yesterday with all four teams receiving two points each for the abandonment.

The second round of the competition however, will get into stride tomorrow (weather permitting) at the Guyana National Stadium Providence ground where defending champions Demerara will take on arch-rivals Berbice and at the Police Sports Club ground, Eve Leary where Essequibo will battle a talented GCB Select Under – 17 side.

The third round of matches will be played on Thursday with the final of the competition set for Friday at the National Stadium, Providence.
