GABA three-tier league begins tomorrow

The Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) in partnership with Banks DIH Limited, officially launched their three-tier league championship yesterday at the Thirst Park Sports Club.The event which is slated to commence tomorrow at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, features play in the 1st Division, 2nd Division and U23 Division. Playing dates for the championship are scheduled for Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Starting time is 18:00hrs.  GABA President Adrian Hooper during brief remarks said, “We’re about to have our first competition of the year and one of the things we have done is bring back the second division so we can have basketball for everyone and at all levels, so there will be a first division, second division and under-23 aspect to the tournament.”

Hooper further said, “Banks has come onboard with us and we must thank them for stepping up so that we can have basketball back in Georgetown again.”

Meanwhile, Rain Forest Water Representative Clive Pellew said, “We at Banks are proud to be associated with this event through our brands, and we have been in support of sport at all levels and when we see these opportunities we take it so that we can hydrate and help these athletes with their game or in whatever way we can.”
