Full Gospel wins as Churches Basketball C/ships get underway

Full Gospel, South AOG and Pentecostal Fire secured contrasting wins when the 11th Pentecostal Linden Churches Basketball Championship continued at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC), Linden on Saturday.

Full Gospel downed Praise Tabernacle 51-36. Compton Burnett and Gavin Clarke recorded 14 points apiece in the win, while Timothy Carter added seven points.

For Praise Tabernacle, Kevin Alleyne netted 14 points while Dominic Henry and Kareem Parkinson contributed six points each. On Friday, at the same venue, Pentecostal Fire edged Mount Carmel 49-47.

Keifer Tappin and Israel Warden top scored in the win with 14 points each while Theodore Tappin and Marlon Pollydore both added eight points.

For the loser, brothers Adrian and Joel Webster tallied 18 and 16 points respectively. The event resumes tonight at the same venue with a doubleheader.

At 18:30hrs, Pentecostal Fire will oppose Praise Tabernacle while at 20:30hrs, Mount Carmel will faceoff with South AOG.
