Keep Ya Five Alive semi-final lineup decided

Sparta Boss will oppose Future Stars while Back Circle will engage West Front Road-Gold is Money in the semi-final round on Thursday following quarterfinal wins on Saturday in the ‘Keep Ya Five Alive’ Futsal Championships.

Played at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue, Sparta Boss squeaked past Leopold Street 5-4 compliments of timely goals from Eusi Philips and Sheldon Shepherd.  

Trailing 3-4 with seven minutes remaining on the clock, Phillips equalised in the 33rd minute, thumping a right foot effort down the centre of the net, from the middle of the field.

Shepherd then recorded what proved to be the winning goal one minute onward, lashing a powerful right foot effort into the lower left corner, from the right side of the field.

Prior the dramatic ending, Phillips had scored in the eighth and 21st minute, while Shepherd netted in the sixth. For the losing team, Okeene Fraser tallied a double in the fifth and 26th minute while Sheldon Profit and Mannaseh Primo were on target in the 29th and 32nd minute each.

In another encounter, Future Stars downed Dave and Celina’s All-Stars 7-4. Akeemo Anthony registered a hat-trick in the 15th, 17th and 43rd minute, while Keiron Solomon scored three times in the 10th, 45th and 47th minute.

Adding a 25th minute conversion was Jeremy Garrett. For Dave and Celina’s All-Stars, Keon Sears accumulated a brace in the fifth and 22nd minute, while Rawle Gittens and Kennard Simon scored in the 35th and 38th minute respectively.

Meanwhile, Back Circle edged Hustlers 5-4. Jermaine Beckles led the East Ruimveldt unit with a hat-trick in the 13th, 14th and 21st minute, while Stephon McLean and Selwyn Williams scored in the 44th and 46th minute respectively.

For the losing team, Stephon Reynolds netted a brace in the 12th and 28th minute, while Donald McKenzie bagged a double in the 16th and 47th minute.

In the final fixture, West Front Road-Gold is Money edged Tucville 3-2.

Phillip Rowley, Carl Tudor and Jamal Pedro scored in the fifth, 17th and 26th minute while Joshua Browne and Raphael Edwards were on target in the 10th and 27th minute respectively for the losing side.

Winner of the event will walk away with $500,000 and the championship trophy. On the other hand, the runners-up will receive $250,000 and the corresponding accolade.
