GABA play: Pacesetters outpace Nets 66-59

Pacesetters defeated Nets 66-59 in their Open Divisional matchup, when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) League continued on Saturday at the Burnham Court on Carmichael and Middle streets.

Jermaine Hamilton top scored with 16 points for the home side, while the duo of Nathan Saul and Jaleel Duke supported with 14 and 13 points respectively. Travis Williams added 10 points in the win.

On the other side, Mortimer Williams led the way with 13 points, with the next best scorer coming in the form of Antwoine Austin with 12 points.  Hodyah Stewart and Pelham Doris contributed 11 and nine points respectively.

Meanwhile, Colts crushed University of Guyana (UG) Trojans by a 79-61 in the U23 section. Timothy Thompson recorded a monstrous 37 points in the rout.

He was assisted by the duo of Jafar Gibbons and Daniel Ramlagan, who chipped on with 17 and nine points correspondingly. For the loser, Kadeem Peterkin top scored with 24 points.

The next best scorer with 13 points was Darrol Williams, while Rondel Holder added nine points. The event is sponsored by Banks DIH Limited under the Powerade Energy Drink brand.
