Ryan Crawford Memorial horse race meet set for Sunday at Alness

The ‘Sport of Kings’ continues on Sunday at the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club as Alness, Corentyne, Berbice with a grand one-day horse race meet.

Eight races are carded for the fixture which will see in excess of $4m in cash and prizes up for grabs.

More than 40 horses have been registered for the event which gets off to a flying start at 13:00hrs.

The feature ‘Alness Classic’ over a distance of a mile, will see $600,000 going to the winners’ stable. Other events on the card include: the H and lower (six furlongs), 3 Year Old and I Class (six furlongs), K Class and lower (six furlongs), J class and lower (five furlongs), L and lower (five furlong) and the lower non winners (five furlongs).

According to reports, the track is in excellent condition and a great day of racing is anticipated.
