Wins for Eagles, Pacesetters in GABA second division league

Eagles and Pacesetters secured wins over Sonics and University of Guyana (UG) Trojans respectively when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) second division league tournament continued on Thursday.

Played at the Burnham Court on Carmichael and Middle Streets, Eagles soared past Sonics 62-52. Shamar Huntley top scored with 21 points for Eagles while Travis Belgrave assisted with 18 points.

Chipping in with 13 and six points each were Kwesi Thompson and Leon Ross. For Sonics, Alex Murray and Andrew Semple netted 10 and seven points respectively while Ricardo Heyliger and Jason Clarke supported with six points each.

Meanwhile, Pacesetters downed UG Trojans 76-70. Stephen Peters and Marvin Durant led the winner with 19 and 18 points apiece, while Quincy DosSantos chipped in with 15 points.

Zion Gray, Jude Corlette and Judah Stephney added nine, eight and seven points respectively. On the other side, Darrol Williams tallied a game high 25 points, while Kadeem Peterkin and Selvaughn Mosley contributed 15 and 14 points each.

The tournament resumes today at the same venue with another double-header.
