Going for Gold!

Guyana’s contingent of athletes and officials departed yesterday on a quest to secure medals at the second edition of the South American Youth Championships which kicks off tomorrow in Santiago, Chile.

The championships which involves 14 competing countries, will see Guyana’s athletes going for gold in the sports of boxing, basketball (3×3), track and field, badminton and table tennis.

Boxing starts on September 30, badminton starts three days later followed by table tennis on October 4, while basketball bounces off on October 5. The track and field athletes will bring the curtain down on the Games from October 6-8.
