Singh (113), Ross (4-8) helps TSC defeat Ace Warriors

The Transport Sports Club (TSC) recorded a 288-run victory over Ace Warriors in the opening round of the Georgetown Cricket Association/New Building Society, second-division competition played at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) over the Weekend.

The day began with Ace Warriors winning the toss and inserting Transport who rocketed to 366 before being dismissed in the final over.

Sunil Singh needed only 58 deliveries for his 133 while Chemroy Kendall was equally as brutal, smoking 62 from 20 deliveries. Sherwin Whyte (3-76) and Abzool Gafor (3-58) were Ace Warriors principal wicket-takers.

Ace Warriors in reply were bundled out for 78 in 19.1 overs.

Off – spinner Kevin Ross finished with 4 – 8 to complete a clinical performance.
