Soft Drink Plant retain Banks DIH Inter-Department tapeball title

Soft Drink Plant successfully retained the Banks DIH Limited, Malta Supreme, Inter-Department tapeball cricket championships after crushing Vehicle Workshop by 41 runs on Friday at the Thirst Park ground.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, the defending champions racked up 121-6 in their 15 overs. P. Boodram scored 26 with one six and one four while J. Martin struck two fours in his 18.

R. Mohabir took 3-23 from three overs.

In reply, Vehicle Workshop ended on 80-8 with T. Liverpool striking four sixes and two fours in the top score of 48.

A. Norville took 2-5 from three overs and M. Gomes 2-8 from two overs.

In the third place playoff, Central Service defeated Sales Department by six runs.

Winning the toss and batting first, Central Service scored 72-3 in the reduced 10 overs a side clash. J. Medas struck four sixes and three fours in the top score of 42 while A. Bolt added 22 runs.

R. Joseph was the pick of the bowlers with 1-13.

In reply, Sales Department finished on 66-1. R. Persaud, struck two sixes and two fours in making 30 not out while R. Joseph struck a six and four fours in his unbeaten 30.

Bolt took 1-17.
