Floodlights throws down the gauntlet to Albion Masters

In preparation for the seventh annual Guyana Softball Cup which takes place November 3-5 four teams will participate in a specially arranged over 45 years of age cricket tournament today at the Jai Hind ground, Albion, Berbice.

In the opening match hosts Albion Masters will take on the Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) from 10am while Wellman will play Parika Defenders at noon.

The grand finale between the two winning teams is set for 3pm.

Floodlights team will include Ramesh Narine, Rabindra Singh, Claude Canterbury, Imtiaz Mohamed and Ricky Deonarain while Wellman will feature the likes Wayne Jones, Lloyd Rooplall, Greg DeFraca and Mike Singh.

Parika Defenders team will feature Kenrick and Bisham Persaud, Davenand Kanan and Fazil Baksh while Albion will feature Rajin Moonsammy and John Sumair.

The fund-raising event also entails a bar-b-que.

The Jai Hind Cricket Ground is located behind the Albion Police Station, Albion Front, Corentyne, Berbice.
