GPF defeat Flamingo to go top of the league

Guyana Police Force (GPF) stormed to the top of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) 2017/2018 Premier League after crushing Flamingo 3-0 Friday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.

In a fixture that produced red cards for Flamingo’s Alvin Chase and Quincy Holder of GPF in the 70th and 83rd minute respectively, the lawmen secured the result assisted by a second-half brace from Rawle Haynes.

The skillful attacker found the back of the net in the 80th and 85th minute while Shemar Fraser sealed the scoreline with a 32nd minute strike.

Meanwhile, Camptown edged Kitty based unit Northern Rangers 2-1 in the always entertaining СCampbellville/Kitty Derby.

Shane Jones and Ozeal Small ensured the Campbellville unit maintained their unbeaten record with goals in the eighth and 19th minute respectively while Deron Jason scored Northern Rangers consolation goal in the 36th minute.

The event resumes today at the same location tripleheader, with GFC tackling Black Pearl at 15:00hrs, and Riddim Squad opposing Beacons at 17:00hrs. The final fixture will pit Pele against Santos from 19:00hrs.
