Courts Pee Wee football reaches semi-final stage

Sophia will oppose West Ruimveldt, while Marian Academy will battle Enterprise in the semi-final stage of the Courts Pee Wee Primary School Football Championship, following quarterfinal wins yesterday at the Thirst Park ground.

Sophia made light work of Redeemer compliments of a 3-1 score line. Leonard King scored twice in the first and sixth minute, while David Weeks netted in the 28th minute.

On target in the loss was Kevin George in the 35th minute. On the other hand, West Ruimveldt downed Stella Maris 4-3 on penalty kicks, after regulation and extra time finished 1-1.

Fidel Edwards scored in the sixth second for Stella Maris, while Ian Daniels equalised for West Ruimveldt in the 20th minute. Meanwhile, Enterprise needled School of the Nation’s 3-2 on penalty kicks, after regulation and extra time ended 0-0, while Marian Academy bested St. Agnes 4-3 on penalty kicks, following a scoreless regulation and extra time intervals. In the 9-16 Position Tournament, Mae’s crushed St. Ambrose 4-1, while Parfait Harmony edged Tucville 2-1.

Also, South Ruimveldt and F.E. Pollard defeated Den Amstel and Goed Fortuin via walkovers respectively. The tournament is coordinated by the Petra Organization.
