Hutson looking to engage government on Synthetic Track for Georgetown

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has a development fund specifically to provide partial funding for new athletic synthetic tracks. Guyana can benefit from this programme once the government of Guyana is willing go into partnership with the Athletic Association of Guyana on such a project.

in Georgetown even if it is for training. Hutson told Stabroek Sport yesterday that “The stands can come after, adding that three possible venues we can look at are D’Urban Park, the National Park and British Guiana Cricket Cub (BGCC) ground on Albert and Thomas Lands.

News of plans being in the pipeline for a synthetic Track and Field facility to be constructed in the city in the not too distant future was first reported by Minister of Social Cohesion, Dr. George Norton and Hutson last Saturday.

Hutson and Norton made the disclosure during the successful Coaching seminar which was held at the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) headquarters in Liliendaal.

The AAG must send a reply to the IOC along with a proposed budget by Friday’s deadline.
