GPF crushes Black Pearl to go top of Premier League

Guyana Police Force (GPF) climbed atop the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Stag Beer Premier League standings after crushing Black Pearl 3-0 Sunday.

Despite the eventual margin of victory, the undefeated lawmen were made to work as the first half ended 1-0 at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.

Rawle Haynes bagged a double in the 24th and 48th minute respectively  while utility man Kester Dundas found the back of the net in the 79th minute.

Meanwhile, Riddim Squad clinched their second win of the tournament, relegating Pele to their third consecutive defeat via a 1-0 score.

Wendell Joseph confined Pele to the cellar position in the standings compliments of a 65th minute strike. Also, Beacons and Black Pearl battled to a 1-1 result.

Keon Douglas handed Beacons the lead in the 17th minute only for Nigel Denny to equalise in the 70th minute. The event resumes on Friday at the same venue with a double-header.
