Mae’s and Bush Lot Secondary Schools yesterday recorded wins in the latest round of the 2017/2018 Guyana Cricket Board/ Demerara Mutual Life Assurance Society Limited/National Sports Commission/ National Secondary School Cricket League (GCB/DMLAS/NSC/NSSCL) continued with matches being played in Georgetown and the East Coast of Demerara.

Over at the MYO Ground on Woolford Avenue, Mae’s Academy defeated St. Winifred by 78 runs. Mae’s batting first, posted a competitive score of 146, before being dismissed in 16.4 of their allotted overs. Yeudistir Persaud, top scored with 44, as Fizal Hussain had the superb figures of 6-27, as Joshua Thompson took 3-12. St.Winifred, in reply were bundled 68 in 11.1 overs, with Joshua Thompson’s 23 being the highest score.  Bowling for Mae’s, Triston Rodrigues grabbed 4 wickets for 5 runs, while Ushandeva Balgobin took 2 for 29, to complete the win.

At Bush Lot, West Berbice, Rosignol Secondary went down to Bush Lot Secondary by eight wickets. Rosignol batting first were dismissed for 64 in 20.2 of their allotted 30 overs, with Hemraj Lalsa snatching 5 for 5 for Bush Lot, who then raced to 65 for 2 inside of 7 overs. National Under-15 captain Marvan Prasad contributed 38, to complete the eight-wicket win.

Matches continue on Monday 6 November, on the East Coast of Demerara, as School Of The Nations clash with Queens College at the Ogle Ground, and Bladen Hall will oppose Golden Grove at Enterprise Ground. In Georgetown, Valmiki Vidyalaya will do battle with Mae’s at the GNIC, on Woolford Avenue.
