Guyana men remain unbeaten win over Guatemala

- women team battles to scoreless draw with Jamaica

The Guyana (GUY) men’s team crushed Guatemala (GUA) 4-0 while the Women’s unit battled to a scoreless draw against Jamaica (JAM), when the Central American and Caribbean Games 2018 hockey qualifiers continued yesterday.

Staged at the Mona Facility, Kingston, Jamaica, Guyana maintained their unbeaten record in the men’s division compliments of goals from Jamarj Assanah, Aroydy Branford, Robert France and Orlando Semple in the eighth, 47th, 54th and 58th minute apiece.

However, the women’s unit was held to a scoreless draw with the host nation.

The Guyanese men will return to action today against Panama at 14:30hrs, while the women will oppose Bermuda (BER) in the earlier fixture at 10:30hrs.

The top two finishers from each division will qualify for the CAC Games.
