GMR&SC Race of Champions meet ends today

The curtain will come down on the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club two-day International race of Champions Meet today at the South Dakota Circuit.

Competitors from Canada, the USA, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Britain and hosts Guyana will battle for supremacy in the fourth and final round of the yearlong championships.

Trinidad, winners of last year’s championships will be looking to defend their title. In addition to the Caribbean Motor Racing Championships, two professional drift cars from Trinidad and Tobago as well as four SR-# radicals from Barbados will be in action.

Meanwhile, one of the country’s top Group Four drivers, Rupie Shewjattan said he plans to be in the middle of competition for top honours.

Shewjattan, who will be piloting a Mitsubishi Evolution V, is eager to test his skills against the Caribbean’s best.
