Aracari Resort to host overseas bodybuilders

The Aracari Resort is the latest entity to hop onboard the highly anticipated ‘Stage of Champions’ event scheduled for tomorrow evening at the Theatre Guild.

During a simple ceremony yesterday at the Versailles resort, Manager, Lennox Wayne agreed with the show’s organizer, Videsh Sookram to accommodate overseas competitors who will compete for top honours during the fixture.

The second annual ‘Stage of Champions’ is scheduled to attract musclemen and women from Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and of course, local gladiators.

On the much talked about night, local musclemen and women will battle with the visiting athletes in the categories of Bodybuilding, Men’s Physique and Ms. Bikini.

Sookram told Stabroek Sport recently that $250,000 will go to the overall bodybuilding champion while the Men’s Physique and Ms. Bikini Champions will pocket $100,000 apiece.

The second and third place finishers in the overall bodybuilding will take home $130,000 and $100,000, respectively, while the second and third place bikini athletes will take home $50,000 and $25,000, apiece.

The former Organizing Secretary of the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation also disclosed that Fitness Express, Space Gym, Sabina Global Communities, Digital Technology and B.M Soat Auto Spares and Auto Sales are also currently onboard as sponsors.

Showtime for the ‘Stage of Champions’ is scheduled for 19:00hrs while admission is listed at $2000. Tickets can be purchased at Fitness Express and gyms citywide.
