John wins yet another cycle road race title

Star cyclist, Jamal John added yet another piece of hardware to his collection.

Yesterday, this season’s most successful wheelsman, rode off with the spoils of the 18th annual Diamond Mineral Water 60-mile road race.

The Team Coco’s standout stopped the clock in two hours, 14 minutes and 17 seconds for the trek which started outside Ocean View Hotel, proceeded to Mahaicony and returned to the point of origin for the finish.

John who has won in excess of 12 races during his 2017 campaign, led Alonzo Ambrose and Paul DeNobrega on to the podium in a fierce sprint finish. Christopher Griffith, Curtis Dey and Paul Choo-We-Nam filled out the top six rewarding positions.

Other category winners yesterday included Dey (junior), Choo-We-Nam (veteran) and Ozia McAulay (mountain bike).
